The emergence of crooners Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Judy Garland.
The reign of rock n’ roll with Elvis Presley as the main star.
The film stars rose like Elizabeth Taylor.
And Fashion Icons that is still tattooed in our minds, hearts and style up to this date; Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn…
Let’s journey from now to the 50s, and there’s no better place to time travel in that era than in District 50 Restaurant. Housed at 2nd Floor, J. Centre Mall, Bakilid, A.S. Fortuna, Mandaue City; District 50 channels the era where the entre of this article reigns.
The restaurant is located on the far side of J. Centre Mall and it’s decorated with lots of 50s inspired; even a faux jukebox greets you on the restaurant’s entrance. But inside is much sophistication; from its 50s poster collection, to a Herbie ride, modified to become a serving table that gives excitement to customers.
You can sense a huge American inspiration on its walls, even the black and white tiled floor that screams UHMERICA which I fancy.
I also love the fact that their kitchen is visible to the customers eye who pigs there; so everyone can see how they work.
The prices are affordable which ranges from P120.00 to P200.00+ only; yet they don’t give you minimal serving and mediocre taste.
Try their Barbaric Ribs and savor the good taste of it! Also, if you are a fan of parmesan cheese; try their Parmesan Chicken that tasted like spaghetti yet its chicken! Those are their bestsellers which I am now a fan.
They also have a wide range of American inspired dishes that you’ll fancy.
The service was fast and their waiters are approachable.
What I only wished for the restaurant was to have their own spot in town; not just situate in the four corners of the mall that makes it generic, but that’s alright, it’s just a mere suggestion of mine.
You should go and try District 50, and like their tagline; come in for a taste, stay for a meal… it’s worth it.
